Christina Jones is a fourth-year student at the University of Alberta, entrepreneur, and advocate whose work is rooted in one belief: the people and issues most often overlooked are often the ones most urgently in need of leadership. Having faced adversity from a young age, Christina learned that hardship can either silence a person or shape them into someone determined to speak louder, build boldly, and create change with purpose. She is the founder of ShieldHer AI, a youth-led non-profit initiative dedicated to examining the societal impacts of artificial intelligence, online harms, misinformation, and deepfake technology. Through research, advocacy, and public education, ShieldHer AI works to equip women, girls, and families with the knowledge needed to navigate an increasingly digital world safely and confidently. For Christina, technology should not only move society forward; it should also protect the people too often left behind by progress. Christina is also the founder of Lofty Lounge, an upcoming Canadian clothing brand created to address a gap she knows personally: tall women being visible, yet still overlooked by traditional fashion. Guided by the message that tall women are seen, but not yet recognized, she is building a brand that prioritizes fit, confidence, and representation for women who have too often been asked to shrink themselves to fit spaces not made for them. Recognized with First Class Standing and Dean’s List distinction, Christina also serves as Secretary of the 2026–2027 Executive Team for the English & Film Studies Undergraduate Network at the University of Alberta. With aspirations of pursuing a career in law, Christina hopes to use policy, advocacy, and entrepreneurship to protect others, amplify overlooked voices, and prove that leadership begins when hardship is transformed into purpose.
