Makayla is a dedicated mental health professional, with 10 years of educational background in psychology, criminal justice, counselling, and child development. She is a mom to a beautiful little girl and was recently married in October 2025. As an epilepsy and mental health advocate, Makayla passionately strives to breakdown barriers and challenge societal stigma. From providing spaces of growth to running donation drives providing accessible resources within her community, she is determined to make a difference in the world. Makayla’s journey with mental health and epilepsy is deeply personal, due to her daughter being diagnosed with epilepsy at 8 weeks old and having fought her own battles with mental health. But she believes strength is often built through hardship. Makayla is passionate about communication and interpersonal relationships. She has worked for the past 4 years supporting youth diagnosed with autism in achieving their goals and has over 10 years in the food and beverage industry, serving individuals across the world with a smile. 

Outside of her community work and career, Makayla is an avid Disney lover, coffee fanatic, and family-focused, growing up with 5 siblings.
