2026 MISS FINALIST
MARILOU
📍Calgary, Alberta
Platform: Supporting youth aging out of the care system through care packages, advocacy and skill building.
Marilou Landry is an advocate, performer, and student at the University of Calgary, originally from Edmundston, New Brunswick. She is the founder of Foster Empower Canada, an organization supporting youth aging out of the care system through awareness and care initiatives such as life skills videos, care packages, and outreach designed to provide practical support and dignity during transition. Her work is rooted in lived experience, having navigated foster care and disability. These experiences have shaped her understanding of how quickly young people can be left without support systems, and strengthened her commitment to breaking barriers that limit opportunity and access. As a drama student, Marilou has been involved in acting since childhood, using performance as a tool for expression, connection, and awareness, with aspirations of becoming a drama therapist after university. Her advocacy spans mental health, foster care, and disability awareness, reflected through her involvement with Jack.org, her social media advocacy, and the TV show Got Game. Her mission is to ensure youth are not defined by their circumstances, but by their potential and ability to succeed.
